Seeq Names Brian Parsonnet as CTO, Sees Success in Early Customer Engagements

July 14, 2014

Seeq® Corporation (www.seeq.com), which closed a $6 million Series A round in November 2013, today announced the addition of Brian Parsonnet as Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Parsonnet has served as Seeq’s senior advisor for product strategy and intellectual property since the company was founded.

“As an advisor, Brian has already heavily influenced Seeq’s product vision and technology roadmap. His 30 years of expertise in engineering technology innovation make him an ideal choice for the CTO role,” said Steve Sliwa, CEO of Seeq. “Now he can focus 100 percent of his energy on directing our strategic technological plan.”

Prior to joining Seeq, Parsonnet served as CTO and Co-founder of Ice Energy. Ice Energy developed cost effective energy solutions to address utility peak demand including the Smart Grid, HVAC efficiency, appliances, and all forms of distributed energy storage.  Parsonnet was a Honeywell Fellow, holding a variety of leadership roles in product definition and strategy for the Industrial Automation and Controls division, and was formerly VP Technology for Honeywell Loveland.

Parsonnet has also been instrumental in early customer acquisition. Peak Efficiency, a spin-out of IE Technologies, is one of several process industry organizations that have benefited from early experience with Seeq technologies through proof of concept trials.

“Peak Efficiency is on the leading edge of providing high value energy products and services to utility companies, and our software infrastructure is a key element of our solutions,” commented Greg Tropsa, CEO.  “Seeq technology has rapidly advanced our software capabilities in analytics and insight on our production system sensor data within days of implementation.”

Seeq’s focus is adding value to Industrial Process Data (IPD), the time series data generated by production assets and its related context from business systems and processes.  Seeq enables the discovery of insights on IPD that drive decisions for continuous improvement and increased profitability.

Parsonnet received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science with honors from Princeton University, and an M.S. in the same from Columbia University. He also holds multiple patents in the field of energy storage, control, and Smart Grid technologies.
