Order Fill Projections
Challenge
At a large yogurt manufacturing operation with regular shipments to track, it was difficult to know if current production was on track to meet target totals by their respective scheduled delivery dates. Meeting these deadlines on time is key to optimizing logistics and maximizing revenue and product shelf life in the food and beverage manufacturing industry.
Solution
The company implemented Seeq’s advanced analytics application. They began with creating production time to fill the order as a capsule. The fill rate of yogurt cups was totalized over the current order to track progress toward the total goal. The first three days of production were used to create a prediction of the order completion deadline to determine the estimated order completion date. This projection was then used to monitor the current progress.
Results
Seeq accurately provided the early indication that production is off schedule, which allows time for correction in the process to get back on track. This resulted in saving the operation time and money with a reliable order fill projection system.
